The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Member of Parliament for Ahuntsic-Cartierville, on behalf of the Honorable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, announced that the Orthodox Church of Antioch of the Virgin Mary would be granted $ 53,375 for its community facilities.
Funding under the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP150) will allow for the installation of an exterior ramp and an elevator with access to the basement of the church where the community halls are located. These installations will improve access to the center’s facilities to persons with reduced mobility.
“The financial support we allocate to our communities clearly demonstrates our commitment to the sustainable growth and prosperity of our country. By improving community infrastructure, we help enhance the vitality of our communities and ensure a high quality of life for residents of all ages”, said the Honorable Mélanie Joly, Member of Parliament for Ahuntsic-Cartierville.
As part of Canada’s 150th anniversary celebrations, the Government of Canada has supported nearly 1,900 community infrastructure projects that will contribute to the vitality and sustainable liveliness of all regions of the country.
