The Honourable Mélanie Joly and the Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos present The National Housing Strategy for Ahuntsic-Cartierville Actors
“As Member of Parliament for Ahuntsic-Cartierville, it has always been important for me to bring together partners to develop inclusive community housing projects in the constituency. The peace of mind that comes with safe, secure and accessible housing adapted to the needs of its residents is priceless. We will work together on projects, such as the future of the Louvain Site, which may very well promote social cohesion and break down isolation.”
-The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Member of Parliament for Ahuntsic-Cartierville and Minister of Canadian Heritage
The Honourable Melanie Joly, Member of Parliament for Ahuntsic-Cartierville and Minister of Canadian Heritage, and the Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, held a discussion for more than two hours with approximately thirty organizations, partners and citizens of Ahuntsic-Cartierville on the new National Housing Strategy. This $40 billion investment over 10 years will help address the housing needs of 530,000 households and reduce chronic homelessness by 50%.
“Our Government is establishing a federal leadership role in housing. The National Housing Strategy will create a new generation of housing in Canada. It will promote diverse communities and will build housing that is sustainable, accessible, mixed-income and mixed-use that will be located near transit, work and public services.”
